Going to PP with your current phone is a good idea. That way you can change only one major variable, and decide if you like what you see. Heck, you could always then return to VZW (horrors!) if you chose. 
Lots of good PP-capable phones out there, for little money. Still love me my Pixi Plus. So much that, 2 months after getting the new Pre2, I haven't swapped to that phone.

Basking Ridge, NJ | The vendor is cell lounge, Inc. They may be just fine, but the lack of documentation seems odd to me. No manual, warranty cards, etc.
