There does not appear to be a KB article for Windows Update (KB2732059) at this time.
It appears to be one of those MS mystery updates. |

ExidorPremium join:2001-05-04 Brampton, ON | Yes, but the description previously posted that I am disputing actually applies to:
System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Vista (KB947821) [September 2012].
No big deal, I am just trying to clarify what is KB2732059.
Oh, and as I write this, the KB article is now up:
You cannot open an .oxps file in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2
You cannot open an .oxps file on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. More specifically, a program that can open the .oxps file is not installed on the computer.
Note The .oxps format is the default XPS document format in Windows 8. Typically, .oxps files are created when users print to a Microsoft XPS Document Writer (MXDW) printer on a computer that is running Windows 8.

4 edits | I saw those two offered and installed them on the two Win 7 Pro 64 with SP1 systems. A laptop did not have SP1 and was not offered the updates. It was never offered SP1, either, for whatever reason. It had the exact same Win 7 Pro 64 OS installed, and was kept updated at all times. Ah, I just found KB2498452, which may have the explanation for the laptop's not getting SP1. I will now have to check it, but I kind of hate to mess with it too much, since it is working.
I elected to get the Intel HD graphics driver update for the laptop and that allowed Windows update to offer SP1 on that machine. However, the update failed multiple times and I finally downloaded the full standalone SP1 and ran that. I then did a Windows update check and found 13 more updates to apply, so I started that download and left the machine on and will check it in the morning. Fun, fun, fun. At least nothing is broken yet . . . . and I really wanted all three systems to be at the same patch level.
I spoke too soon. I ended up having to do a system restore and then selectively download the most recent updates. I also uninstalled the two KB's about authenticated local attacks, and the system is definitely quicker.

FROSTYPremium,MVM join:2000-08-10 Leeds, AL | reply to Gone Fishing FYI: KB2592687, the RDP 8.0 update for Win7 and Server 2008, not only breaks the Aero glass function of RDP in Win7 (as documented here: »support.microsoft.com/kb/2592687), an undocumented affect is the individual drive selections for the XP Mode VM of Win7 will no longer work. The user must select all host drives to be visible in the VM. After this patch is installed, the ability to select individual drives yields no host drives visible inside the VM as per noted here: »social.technet.microsoft.com/For···62f3539b -- "When you set yourself on fire and aim for the sky, you hope to leave behind some sparks of heat and light ... [Info] Microsoft out-of-band WU - KB2753842 quote: t e c h n e t . m i c r o s o f t . c o m Vulnerabilities in Windows Kernel-Mode Drivers Could Allow Remote Code Execution (2783534) ...
Executive Summary
This security update resolves one publicly disclosed vulnerability and one privately reported vulnerability in Microsoft Windows. The more severe of these vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted document or visits a malicious webpage that embeds TrueType or OpenType font files. An attacker would have to convince users to visit the website, typically by getting them to click a link in an email message that takes them to the attacker's website.
This security update is rated Critical for all supported releases of Microsoft Windows (except Server Core installations, which are rated Important). For more information, see the subsection, Affected and Non-Affected Software, in this section.
