Re: [Networking] Online Gaming on HughesNet

Minecraft for the PC works on some servers and is playable. Dedicated servers obviously work the best. It is playable but you'll have a really hard time hitting other players if you're trying to play PvP/Hardcore.

Realm of the Mad God works and plays fine.

Lost Saga connects. However it is unplayable because you're behind everyone in terms of connection speed, so you're constantly getting hit while being unable to react. Also a bubble pops up over your characters head that says "Slow Connection" which annoyed me.

Just our of curiosity, does Minecraft still eat bandwidth faster than Pac-Man eating dots on a Power Pellet-induced rampage?

I'll look into that. I played for about 30 minutes but didn't notice a huge amount of usage at the time. Lately my connections been crappier than usual, and I can't connect to games I usually play. I'll check in a day or two.
