[Internet] Tampa Bay First Hop Timing Out

My first hop on any traceroute or tracert times out and it just started in the past few days. This is an example of a traceroute from my BHN provided UBEE router to google and apple. Is there any good explanation of why it would start timing out randomly? I have had first hop time outs before then they stopped, but are now back to timing out. Thanks in advance for any replies!

Did you use a wired connection when doing the traceroute thingy? Do you have Lightning Tier? Are you using the default BHN DNS servers, or OPENDNS?

Yes it is a wired connection, I did the traceroute FROM the router itself, it is a feature to ping and traceroute when logged into admin on the UBEE router. Yes I have Lightning and I assume the router uses BHN's DNS servers.

Nothing to worry about, that hop is simply not responding to requests.

My guess is that BHN's border router simply isn't responding to your ICMP echo request packet. May be a network security ploy to hide the border router's IP address, or ??

I'm seeing the same behavior in St. Petersburg.
