1 edit | That may not be a good thing for you as St. Louis has always been one of the most mentioned troubled areas on here ever since I signed up 12 years ago.
Now, with headquarters in your area, watch it become a troubled area!
Areas of California have always been the worst with St. Louis right behind it.
Edit: Must add that the number of complaints has declined quite a bit, now that I think of it. -- The Firefox alternative. »www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/ |

| reply to SwedishRider Charter HQ is literally in my back yard and I could hit the building with a rock and a strong throw. Their main service center is about 15 minutes away.
I switched to Charter something like 10 years ago. Back then they were awful but nowadays I'd rate them excellent. I have been especially happy with internet.
The only other thing available is ATT but I have far too much experience with ATT to ever want to deal with them. Despite my warnings, my wife got it installed at her mother's house and she's regretted it ever since. (Not the service itself but having to deal with billing and trying to make changes over time. Those have been nightmares as they always have been.) |

And although service has had better times and worse times, I would have never said that Charter STL is one of the worst markets for Charter, or even low on the list when comparing to other cable provider.
Sad to see this kind of move. Hopefully most of the STL employees are able to find work in other departments, or make the decision to follow the company. |

 | reply to SwedishRider Just another blow to the St. Louis' economy. It was only a matter of time since all the upper management moved to NYC. |

May not be that bad if they stick to what they are saying as of now. Sounds like most departments are getting left behind in STL.

1 edit | Yep. Only about 200 are losing their jobs out of 1700 (I forgot the exact number). |

Didn't say that St. Louis was one of the worst markets. I said it was one of the most mentioned areas of people having issues here at dslreports since I signed up. I see that you signed up the same year, so if you've been active here regularly since then, you should know what I'm talking about? -- The Firefox alternative. »www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/ |

Do you know does that 1700 include the regional support center as well that is in Town and Country?. I'd imagine it does, just wondering how big the corporate office is at 270/Manchester compared to the regional support center off 141. |

| I don't know. I thought I heard the support center would be unaffected so I guess the only people leaving are at the 270/Manchester building. My nephew works there. I should call and ask him what he knows.
I'm going to bet that Edward Jones grabs that up. |

Especially since the CFO is getting 760,000 to ease the burden of moving costs comng out of his overloaded pocketbook

 | reply to Phatty As it turns out, only 100 are losing their jobs and the number of local employees is 2700, not the 1700 I originally said. |

| reply to SwedishRider Maybe this would provide a window in the legislation to repeal the restriction blocking municipal broadband that has smaller communities in Missouri locked into dial-up or satellite. I really can't imagine who else would have fought to prevent it. Are there other cable companies based in the state? |
