see the TV instructions on what is supported. If certain files are supported the TV would have a player to support said files. you do not install windows media player on the flash drive . Alternatively the TV may support network streaming from files stored on your computer. You may have to download / install a program on your computer for the TV to support this. See TV instructions . The streaming option is better for a wall mount where access to any USB port is going to prove awkward with the TV up in the air .

In every TV there are some supported formats. So you are able to play only supported formats.
