Probably $3 or $4 dollars in tax.

You wonder what? If the deal works for you, great. If not, don't take it.

I never buy from someone that knocks on my door. I figure if it is a good enough deal for them to justify going door-to-door, it probably is not a good deal for me.

Just considering my options, that price includes taxes

Get it in writing. Door-to-door salesman have been known to ... uh ... stretch the truth.

Dvr plus probly also. Not equal to regular dvr box. You will be unhappy if you currently have a real dvr box with a disk inside.

Well, I sure wish that I lived in an area that was serviced by both CV and either FiOS or U-Verse (which must be the case for the original poster). Unfortunately, since all I can get is CV, I never get offered any deals. They just say "bend over" and I ask "how far?"

Had my CV rep (Brian) back here today. And he offered me some small kickers such as free Optimum World Call, Battery Backup, etc. So I thought about it for a minute and opted to sign up. Installing 10/30. Hopefully the new UI/Guide will be out by then

It's never far enough.

Did you confirm dvr boxes and not dvr plus? Just making sure so you are happy.

2 DVR boxes. My area doesn't have DVR+ (yet)

Door to door is the best way to get a deal. The last door to door dealer gave me the triple play boost plus, showtime and DVR and my bill is $69 +tax. I was able to retain it for 2.5 years and now I have cancelled since they decided to raise rates $15.
