 | [Misc] OLD Airequipt Automatic SRC slide projector My grandparents let me have there old slide projector and all the old family slide and I have no clue what model it is and how to use it. I been all over Google trying to find an user guide or something but I can not seem to find the 'SRC' series. Closest match to the pics is the 'Festival' series. I wonder how old this thing actually is. Could 'SRC' be a special model maybe?
Is there anyway that I can transfer all of the old slides to high resolution JPG and store them all on to DVD?
Here is what the sticker on the bottom of the unit says. 2x2 Slide Projector Serial No. 20413 105-120 Volts 50 60 HZ only 580 Watts Max Lamp 500 W. Max CSA LR 9438 Made in USA Airequipt INC |

I think the fastest way would be to set up a camera & tripod then run a slide show with the projector while taking the digital pictures.

 | reply to robman50 Please say more about what happens when u try to use it. Does the light come on? Put a tray in and touch forward. One slide should slide into the light path.
If no light, check the bulb and socket n contacts. If no advance or slide movement, try tiny amount wd40.
For screen you can use any white wall. Fancier are the more reflective brighter screens with glass beads. Align rhe projector to be parallel to rhe screen.
Or just skip all that and send the slides out to be scanned or get a scanner with a slide scan attachment. Orif you have a patience n a macro lens just put the slides on a lightbox and photograph them |

Here are some slide duplicators available for on-camera use or slide/negative scanners that hook up to your PC. »www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_nkw=slid···code=raw
The on-camera way is what I have opted for and works great. What's even better is that the images are the same MP size as your camera can capture and you have the option of RAW capture too.
For around $50 or so, that would be the best way to go.

 | reply to fwd rev The projector runs well but I can't figure out how to put the slides in. The slides are in those rectangle and circular things and I guess those connect to the projector somehow. |

 | reply to robman50 most of the airequip projectors used the rectangular. the round trays are for either the kodak carousel projctors or the other brands with smaller round trays. assuming yours uses rectangular. the tray nirmally goes on the machine sideways so a mechanism can push the slide into the light path. but some machines and most of the round machines use gravity feed to drop the slide inti the light path. to further confuse things, there were some machines that accepted both round and rectangular trays. in general for u, place the tray so that one of the open sides is accessible to the slot in the machine that goes into the light path. |

rcroningD700 RocksPremium join:2005-05-21 Winnipeg, MB | reply to robman50 Actually, some of the Airequipt were capable of handling both. The Airequipt circular, and the Kodak carousel are not interchangeable. The Airequipt has aluminum holders for the slides.
If robman50 got both types of feeders then his projector will probably handle both. |

Those projectors often could use trays too.
The round trays have an aluminum plate on the bottom that has two tabs that fit into slots on the projector to hold it upright. --

 | reply to rcroning I'll post some pics tomorrow, have to recharge the camera. And for me who is the youngest and lived in the world of film cameras and now JPEG stills so what the hell is a slide projector? Where does the SD card go? Okay so its a projector, where is that VGA port? LOL |

 | reply to robman50 I figured out how to put the slides on correctly 'Operate' button the machine makes a very loud buzz. What is that buzz about? It sort of sounds like something is stuck 'under the hood'. |

rcroningD700 RocksPremium join:2005-05-21 Winnipeg, MB | reply to robman50 That's probably the slide transport mechanism. Sounds stuck.
Time to get that duplicator. You really don't want those old slides in front of a 500W lamp. Convert them first, then project if that tickles your fancy

 | If I take the cover off, could I maybe fix it? |

 | Since that thing was bought as a gift back in the 70's, I am surprised it still works. |

 | reply to robman50 I don't believe you need the projector. I remember seeing a Canon flatbed scanner that had a slide copier function a while back. All you needed to do was install the little slide centering frame onto the scanners glass bed, push the slide into the scanner, trigger the scan and repeat. The quality was way up there (equal to the original print) adjustable (scan it at 300 dpi up to 1200 dpi) and quick (5-10 seconds to complete). The software would even save/store the scans as .jpg's and rename them if you desired. |

 | reply to Hayward The slides go in, I slide the bar in to press the slide in to the projector and press the button and it buzzes. |
