wm4bama join:2012-05-10 Goodwater, AL | [Exede] Exede increases usage for $49 plan.. Effective today Exede has increased the $49 usage plan from 7.5 to 10.0gB's..
This matches what is offered by DishNet and NRTC co-ops.
With the free zone (LNFZ) already active this removes any incentive for customers to contract with DishNet (except maybe the $5/month savings if bundled with TV) or NRTC co-ops...existing customers may still prefer DishNet or NRTC because of the customer services they like ...
The web site for new customers to check availability using their zip code has not be updated with this new data...it still showed 7.5gB this morning but I've alerted them to update their web sites.. -- Exede12, ViaSat-1, beam 342, Albuquerque Gateway, Denver AcceleNet servers |

 | I got the email...
I am on the 15GB plan so this don't affect me. Wish they would of raised all plans not just basic. Makes the middle not worth the extra cost if it is only 5GB more... |

1 edit | reply to wm4bama The website has been updated now.
I think Exede should do more to show off the LNFZ. Having a little spot in the corner saying unmetered access between midnight and 5 am is not very catchy compared to Hughes' grouping of the anytime and bonus data together. Someone knew to satellite internet may not even know what unmetered means in terms of internet. Customer perception is important. Perhaps Exede should make a larger spot on their website mentioning LNFZ bonus data from midnight to 5 am and put in big letters "UNLIMITED" across all three tiers. Just an idea. |

 | reply to albionfog I agree with you on the pricing of the Exede 15GB and 25GB plans. It is a steep jump for just 5 more GB. And the 25GB plan is awful pricey.
But the 10GB for $50 combined with the LNFZ...hard to beat that price/package combo. |
|
 | reply to silbaco I wish the LNFZ was a little more flexible, say to 6AM at least. |

 | reply to OldSatUser I called yesterday to upgrade to Exede12 and the rep was surprised that it came up with 10Mb rather than the 7.5Mb. Yesterday the rep was not able to get a work order # so he said to call back today. All info is there but still no work order # so the rep had to request Corp to make one, need to call back in the next day or 2 to see if a wo# is posted. Anyway I asked to make sure and yes it is now 10Mb. |

 | reply to wm4bama If they get enough feedback or a slower subscriber uptake on their higher plans than they would like, they will probably change them. That or lower the price of the top tier. |
|
 | I'm going to watch my usage for a month or so but I'll probably downgrade to the basic plan and use the LNFZ for any overages. |
