Primus or Echo? Who is Echo?

Usually the service is good but I notice sometimes that it slows down. Normally when you are using speedtest.net it will say the name of the isp on the bottom left. Every time it lagged it says Echo instead of Primus Telecommunications. Why is it lagging and why aren't we told what's going on.. weird stuff... its rather annoying.

Are you fed from a central office or are you on a remote DSLAM?

If you try using test@test, password: test as your credentials (instead of xxx@1mm.primus.ca), do you get a 10.x.x.x IP?

If test@test works, it means you are using Bell's GAS (gateway access service) to connect to Primus, and there could be issues on Bell's end. Open a ticket with Primus and make sure you let them know the 10.x.x.x IP you get, along with latency and speedtests.

Also, have you tried reconnecting to hopefully land on a less congested AHSSPI link (from Bell's BAS to Primus')?

If reconnecting several times doesn't work, more than likely it's the uplink to the DSLAM.

The reason for the Echo Online IP is because Primus bought them years ago, but it seems ARIN hasn't updated that IP pool yet.
