Bye Cogeco, hello Start!

After a 12 months of $50 a month in additional bandwidth usage charges with GOUGECO, I'm just a few short days away from Start activation.
My Cogeco connection has been rock solid, my only complaint, from the beginning, has been the draconian bandwidth caps.
Here's my experience switching to START so far...
About a week ago I called and set up my new account with Start.
I bought the modem outright.
While we only have Docsis 2 in this area, I went ahead with the Docsis3 modem to be future-proof.
The CSR who helped me on the phone with Start was courteous, knowledgeable and friendly, almost chatty. Sounded like a happy Canuck who likes her job.
There was a little confusion over cancellation protocols with Cogeco, Start suggested I get a cancellation date. I called Cogeco and verified I was in fact on a simple month to month with them, so I will just call and cancel the day after Start is verified to be working.
An additional detail I have to manage is that I have my phone with Cogeco and I need to keep it active for at least another month or so before I switch to a cheaper voip alternative.
To do that I have installed a coax splitter on my line just at the modem and I'm sending one to the Cogeco phone modem for phone and the other line to the Start modem for web.
We'll see how all that works.
WEDNESDAY OCT 17: My modem arrived in the mail today, setup day is next Thursday. It was all I could do to not hook it up today...lol.
I'll update this thread from time to time as I complete the process of switching over. I hope this might help someone thinking about switching to go ahead and pull the trigger!

Update: I plugged in my Start modem today, fired it up and promptly did a speedtest.
32MB down, 2MB up!
Wow! Fastest internet ever!
Things have been working great so far, modem pretty much locked on immediately and good pings and speed.
Very happy.
Even got a friendly call this evening from Start to make sure everything was working ok.
Thanks rocca et al for being awesome and understanding the concept of true customer service.
Holler at your CSR's and tell them they are doing a good job!

BTW, just WHO is this 'AL' person ?

An awful lot of companies seem to have one.

Their last name isn't Smith by chance ? - or Jones ?

We have only 2 things about which to worry :
(1) That things may never get back to normal
(2) That they already HAVE !
