Highgain 8186HP Setup Questions

I have a Highgain 8186HP setup as a bridged AP on my rooftop using an external 14db antenna. I have it setup for G only but I am not sure how to correctly set the TX Power (CCK) and the TX Power (OFDM). In addition, I am not sure about the other settings, here they are.

Block Relay – Disabled
IAPP – Enabled
802.11g Protection – Enabled

Can anyone provide me with guidance in selecting the correct settings.
Thanks.

Just leave them at default. You should be good.

I don't know what the default settings are/were. Would you know?

Ok could crack one out and plug 'er in and factory reset it, I have 20 of these relics on my garage floor. Buuuut I'd miss The Walking Dead I'm about to play back from PVR

The settings you have above are fine, the power settings are at max by default. The OFDM is the only real important one in G mode.

So should I set them this way?
CCK 26dbm (400mW)
OFDM 20dbm (100mW)

Those are the maximums for each setting.

You should set them as low as possible to not overload the other end and to stay legal. 26DBm into a 14 DBi antenna may exceed legal EIRP.

The lowest settings are:
CCK - 12dbm (16mW)
OFDM - 3dbm (2mW)

So I should use those?

You can legally use 22dbm figure 23dbm with line loss.

What does that yield in RSSI on the other end? I did not say to use the absolute lowest possible. I said to use the lowest that does not overload the other end.
