 | Need assistance evaluating this tivo purchase There is a Tivo 3 + wireless adapter + lifetime subscription available to me locally for $150, used. Assuming it works, is that a good deal, an even deal, or a bad deal?
I know I'll need to pay $2/mo x2 for the cards, but it sure does beat $10 DVR + $7 in rental fees. |

Also, you'll only need one CableCARD. A single M-Card can decode both tuners. -- University of Southern California - Fight On! |

If its a Series 3, (and not a TivoHD), he will need 2 cards. The Series 3 can use multistream cards, but only in single-stream mode. If its a TivoHD, then one multistream card will be fine. |
