Routing Issues

Any he.net routing issues anyone notice? For the last 4 days access to my seedbox is horrid but speedtests on my side and the box side are fine just FTP between the two sucks.

Even tvrage.com which is normally pretty fast is slower then hell tonight.

Anywho my seedbox is at pikespeak.pulsedmedia.com if anything can be checked on the start side.

Seedbox company asked me to try these two files.

»pds2g-test.pulsedmedia.com/100MB
»pds2g-test.pulsedmedia.com/1GB

I can barely get 15K/sec

Reported it to support@start.ca and rocca responded.

Routing issues such as OP is having is always difficult to get it resolved. Firstly, it's outside of Start's network and there could many other aspects causing the routing issue.

I was in the similar situation when the speeds to my servers were horribly slow and found out that it's due to poor routing. Cogeco didn't do anything about it nor Teksavvy did. Their reason, "It's outside of their network."

I think it's up to ISP to work with other providers to get it resolved but most likely that's not going to happen.

Maybe Rocca can chime in and explain the procedure as I'm not too familiar with it!

Thats why hopefully start will get more uplinks in future, so, in case something like this happens (and many people complain) they can remove affected link (i am not saying this should be done now, since not many people complain) but ... i agree with you Guru, they should be working with HE, contact them, see whats up and ask them to resolve the issue.

OVH routing is very poor outside their network!

Most of the users do not get good speeds to north america.

if the issue is with HE.net then it should be escalated by Start to HE.net and they will open a ticket and get it resolved.
