Has anyone else noticed this splash page on the Optimum.net site? I think this is great! You can even get the status of your home (for those who are out of town) as well as for your town.

I think this is really great!

100% of my town has service according to this tool. Most houses however do not have power

If you look at the initial picture you will see a link at the bottom that says "Service Report for your Zip Code & Home", when you click that link, it prompts you to sign in, as already mentioned.

Mine says service not restored yet, but i never lost service we are lucky to have had power and cable never go out. I don't think this is very accurate.

Yeah it's not really accurate but i guess.

Got some really generic answers in regards to service at work. People up and down the road have service but in the middle dont. I'm sure different node is the reason (as they proudly mentioned, like it was big inside secret) but then shouldn't that be a fixable sitauation instead of "NO ETA" - We have no phone and data here. Actually using an iPad and DD-WRT router (Client mode) to connect the network to the internet. Email servers can't get squat though so emails are down.

Got a prepaid phone and forwarded the office lines to that (good thing that works) so at least we still get incoming calls.

Well, at least it's good to know that once you get your power back, you'll have cable TV/Internet. Unfortunately what does it say when the cable company can restore service faster than the electric company?

Funny - I happened to check it earlier because my upstream was really bad - and it said "Not restored".

Sometime after 9:30 the modem lost sync - and now it can't get it back.....

My service out. It was on during the storm and after. Then suddenly tonight around 9:30 it went out. Cablevisions response was that it could be weeks before it is fixed and they are sorry. BTW the system says I have service. *SHRUG*

Sometime between 10:30 and 11 AM the modem re-sync'd and everything is working fine now.

Lindenhurst has power restored for 2 days now, Optimum site shows 24% of town has Cable.. I am not one of the 24% and i cant work my side business w/o it. Struggling.

TV came back but the Internet is still out. I take courses online and now I can not get the work done. Cablevision keeps on saying it could be thanksgiving or later before I get back service. They offer a credit. Everything worked fine, it seems as though we are moving backwards. I live in Suffern, NY.

Well at least CV won't be able to say they can't give a refund for no service. (Does that make sense?) I'm saying they can't say we had service since their own page says we didn't.

I agree. We can only hope that they keep it after the storm recovery is over. They used to have a system status page many years ago. It was helpful when trying to troubleshoot. Don't know why they ever took it down. This one is better, since I can look when I'm at work, and see if it's working at home.

It's a great idea IMHO. I see Optimum trucks everywhere so the techs are out there and no doubt working their butts off.

The page is very inaccurate now. It says 17,849 CT homes they serve still have no power and that is not true. Only 120 people in the entire state have no power and 100 of them are in areas Cablevision doesn't service. CL&P started sending their crews to NY and NJ yesterday to help them out.
