Also, make sure that the replacement has been manufactured within the last 6 months (check the sticker on the box). If they sit around too long, things inside can degrade, so that the replacement doesn't work any better than the one you took out.

I know this from personal experience on a different HP model.

I have two HP P3015 printers. On the good printer, I have moved the toner cartridge which has the drum built in to the streaking printer and it made no difference.

What else can be done?

BK3 mentioned what you have to do. I think you got confused in the terminology. You are going to have to order and replace the entire toner cartridge assembly which holds the toner cartridge and the drum assembly.
