I've finished a clean install of Win8 on a new computer I put together with a touchscreen (HP 21.5" L2206tm). I really like Windows 8 and Metro. I was getting tired of seeing the same old desktop. My desktop on Windows 8 is very barren.
It only took me about 15 minutes to figure out the Metro interface. I removed all the Metro Apps that Windows installed, and replaced them with my normal programs and stuff.
I haven't looked at the Apps yet to decide what I want to use. I haven't finished installing all my regular programs yet, but this is what I have so far:

| reply to Freddy So Freddy, How did you get the titles over the groups of Icons? I've done similar arrangement on my Start Menu but was curious how you got it on your image.

 | reply to gzt7d8 Click on the minus in lower right corner and then you should be able to right click the group to name. |

FreddyPremium join:2005-05-17 Arlington, VA | reply to Octavean Octavean, I don't know whether one can change the background on the Start screen. I'm so pleased with the purple that I've not searched for another look.
Nope, sivran, no live tiles. Maybe later.

 | reply to Octavean Nope not natively yet.
Looks like there's a 3rd party tool that will let you do this.
I'm happy with a solid color =) |

I just unpinned the Windows Apps from the Start screen, because I've not determined which of those I'm interested in. All the Apps now reside on the screen you see when you click on Search on the Charms Bar. They're still available to add back to the Start screen.
