 | Favorite DVD Ripping software? I've been using Handbrake to encode my DVD Rips, but am wondering if there's something better out there. What's your favorite and why? |

I'm also making more 1:1 copies of DVDs since DLDVDs are cost effective now (and have been for years). -- What smells like blue? |

| reply to fastfan Technically, your question is not accurate for what you are wanting to hear. Although everyone is answering you anyway.
Ripping = the process of copying the data from the DVD.
Burning/conversion/encoding is totally seperate.
In any case, I use DVDFab as well. You only need AnyDVD or DVDFab, not both as some have noted.
For conversion, I use VidCoder, which is just a GUI for handbrake. -- Google is your Friend |

We always used to have to hunt for DVDs - is the one we want to watch in the upstairs or downstairs family room? Now all DVDs are moved downstairs and the the upstairs TV uses ATV (though still has a DVD player for the occasional RedBox). -- Don't Lie - Be Kind - Realize your Potential |

I use DVD Catalyst and it does everything; rip, encode, transfer. Your able to select multiple images. It has selections for most mobile devices. Yes, it does cost $10 but the support is excellent.

 | reply to fastfan Handbrake can only rip unprotected DVDs, if we run into protected DVD, it won't work for that. Anyway,it's a good free DVD Ripper. for some better, as far as I am using, some program like Leawo DVD Ripper can be a good choice. I love that it can rip DVD without quality lose with good converison speed. and you can do some simple editing like trim video lengt to get the part you want. |
