Re: Swapping Router at FiOS Store The PS3 is 802.11g, its theoretical maximum is about 24mbs due to forward error correction. There is no "proper wireless equipment" one could connect with the PS3's wireless to get faster than the above listed speeds
Just Google PS3 wireless, 10mbs seem very common real worlds connection speed for that console |

ChrisUK join:2008-08-28 Falls Church, VA | My PS3 is only reporting about 6 Mbps download speed from my Actiontec Rev C. The YouTube app suffers from constant buffering. I tried switch wifi channels, but speeds get worse.
Is getting a newer Actiontec likely to help? I'm concerned that the reduced range of the newest version might make things worse.

Chris You likely don't have a router issue, you have a wireless distance issue. Simplest thing to do is move the router closer to where the PS3 is located, the router can hang off any coax outlet in the house.
Another cause for slowdowns could be you have other wireless devices, like other computers and they are using part of the bandwidth
You can also have a second MOCA device , most use an old Actiontec as a LAN bridge and then you can run wired from the PS3 to the second Actiontec ( the FIOS FAQ has many options ) |
