A camping stove is an incredibly dangerous and aggravating device.

They are not dangerous if you:

-know how to use it correctly
-use it in a well ventilated area
-use it away from any flammable materials

There are different types of camping stoves too. The kind which use a gas (ie: propane) is much safer than those which use liquid fuels, as there is no risk of spillage and no big flames on start-up.

I think I've used them long enough to have had enough of them. Started when I was in the Boy Scouts in the 50's, when I was a scout leader, when my wife and I went camping etc. I know how to use them safely. I don't want the hassle, I don't want to be outdoors to use it thus I just don't want the aggravation. The electric range works just fine for me.

Camping stoves have come a long way since the 50s white gas era.
