[Home Network] Need new modem/router
Haven't bought one in a while but I need to buy a new modem router for one of my customers. He's not paying rent on the modem.
Has a fluky Motorola modem to an older Belkin router.
I don;t know whether the 2Wire is still available.
I couldn't find it on BestBuy's site.
I want to pick one up locally, have a BestBuy, Office Max, etc. around.

you're better off with a motorola 3347 modem/router combo specially since it's a business.
i wouldn't trade a truckload of any other modems for that 3347.

My 3347 has been perfectly reliable.
I replaced the original power supply with one of the Belkin 12V DC-output UPS's that are meant for AT&T UVerse (»www.belkin.com/us/gatewaybattery ). Either the Rev. A or the Rev. B will work fine. These are expensive (around $130) new, but they can be found in used-merchandise venues (thrift stores, swapmeets, etc.) for a few dollars. If the battery is defective, this won't matter, but I would recommend disconnecting the defective battery (leave it installed in order to provide weight).
