Re: vhs dvd problem
I wonder if this is a function of the capture card itself, or Media Center software itself?
It wouldn't surprise me if it was only the software. Microsoft is in bed with the movie industry.
Realistically, who is going to use VHS to infringe on copyrights these days? Practically no one. I don't know why they would even bother with macrovision protection in modern software/hardware.
Macrovision is still alive and well today and being used in DVD recordings as well. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that it's built into every sanctioned player out there and maintains backward compatibility with the earliest versions.
Either way, a video stabilizer is an easy solution and as a bonus some of them also work on satellite and cable pay TV signals as well as DVD and VHS protected media, so getting a good one is a great way to be able to copy almost anything.
