[DSL] slow down speed

Just checked my speed at 2 speed test sites and apparently I am not getting the bandwidth I should be. Am on a 3000/512Kbps Connection but am only getting 1.32 mbps down and .25 mbps up. Have been getting this speed consistently before as well but I didn't really need the extra bandwidth before now. I have searched the forums and the cord from my phone jack to my modem was >than 10 feet so I fixed that but I'm still getting the same speeds so I'm wondering what could be wrong. help please?

Is that a Verizon connection? If so, I don't know what could be up. But with an AT&T 3008/512 profile (Pro) I have seen users with a botched connection profile, where the system wasn't properly configured for the tier.

Either way (VZ or T), contact one of the DSLX tech guys; they should be able to pull the right levers.

I found your account and tested the line. Looks like we have issues with the line quality. I'll have a tech contact you to troubleshoot.

Thanks for the quick help... got a message from tech support am calling them back... will update you on how it goes... appreciate the help!

am very glad that posting here first got the ticket open and past the general troubleshooting steps that the call center guys go through...

So after troubleshooting it out over and post optimization my slow speeds persist. unfortunately my old house is not wired such that I can test at the telephone box outside my house, so we scheduled at&t to come out and check the lines... lets see...

I will say that on this forum and on the phone the level of courtesy and professionalism that DSL extreme display is very refreshing... Despite my problem still persisting I feel that they have explained and outlined the process to resolution in a great manner to put me at ease that we will figure it out eventually... I remember reading some posts about sub par service in the past and had reservations about choosing this ISP but I must say that in the case of DSL Xtreme I have had a very pleasant customer service experience.

Got off the phone with dsl xtreme at 4pm after scheduling an att line check at my house.... 6pm and the att tech has come, fixed the line, and gone... Back up and running with proper speeds... Awesome turn around time IMO. Thank you steve and dsl xtreme for aweosme CS
