That's a DOCSIS 2 modem.

Thanks. But is this docsis hardware or firmware related?

DOCSIS. You need a D3 modem to get full use of the speeds offered.

You could be looking at both. Are you having disconnects every few hours or so?

I have friends not far from you (same POI I think, but hard to know now with Comstock in the mix) have had issue with their modems, same as yours, disconnecting every few hours and then reconnecting. This is a firmware issue, however, the terrible speeds you are experiencing looks like local node congestion which can be combated with a DOCSIS 3 modem.
