TV Recommendation?

Hi guys,

Been looking for a savings with Black Friday coming up.

I purchased this TV from Costco earlier today, Samsung 55EH6050 for $850. I know Costco usually gets there own models to resell and I'm not sure what the comparable or equivalent would be.

Anyway, I'm not totally happy with the TV. I mean, should I be at that price? I don't know. I've been messing with the settings but the colors just seem dull, and the overall quality is somewhat poor.

The other TV I am considering is the Vizio e series (55" or 60"). The 60" is going to be on sale at some retailers for $688 for Black Friday. While I will not wait in ridiculous lines for this TV I am wondering if anyone is familiar with the product. Some of the consumer and professional reviews sound pretty great.

This is a family room TV and is upgrading a Sony V series LCD I purchased 6 years ago. I have a media room so I'm not looking to break the bank. I just want something that is sufficient for Sunday football games, cartoons for my daughter, and video games here and there.

Feedback on the two I mentioned, or recommendations are welcome. Thanks.

I think I may have found the model on Samsung

Doesn't have the F at the end, but I think that's it? Seems to be some good, limited reviews out there. Not sure why I don't feel the same way as them.

What source(s) are you using with this TV (analog cable, HD cable, bluray play of bluray discs, old DVDs)?

What kind of calibration have you done (not just randomly messing with the settings but actual calibration)?

What size is this TV? Was it connected to the same source(s) as the new TV?

I have everything running through a Pioneer receiver via HDMI (bluray, DirecTV, and gaming consoles). The Pioneer acts as the switch which runs to the TV.
I use calibration settings that I've searched online. Specifically cnet's with a comparable model and then I tweaked and adjusted to my liking.

The old TV was 42". This was used in a condo when I lived in Chicago and was of ideal size. I have a large house now and the family room is quite large. I would say the viewing distance is about 9' away.

I have to say, I finished watching Sophie the Princess with my daughter on Disney earlier and the picture quality was pretty amazing. I realize it's a cartoon, but everything was crisp and bright.

Then I'm here watching the Sunday Night football pregame and it's just not the same luster. I feel my old Sony had much better color.

there is your answer.
what is displayed that you see, will only be as good as the source supplied.
there are so many variables, pre/post processing that go into source signals that are input to a display, not mentioning the set itself that has additional processing.
some sets can "handle" this difference better because the range of dynamics on the set is narrower, therefore, most content appears to display alike on the set that is not relative to the differences in the quality of the content itself.
