 | New service, impressed. Had WOW service installed at the new house, and I must say, I'm impressed so far with it. Quality TV, quality internet. Pings are good, speeds are good (Your Speed Result: Download Speed: 15898 kbps (1987.3 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 2274 kbps (284.3 KB/sec transfer rate)).
Keep it up WOW, hope it stays this way. |

The reason I'm asking is because I'm moving too! And as coincidences go I need service installed at my new house too! I joined up here because a friend of mine says that people in the know come here to get ISP info. Otherwise I wouldn't have any idea that this site even existed.
Could you post what package you have. Even maybe post a review on the review board. I know that it sure would help me and anybody else who needs new services. |

 | I'm in St. Clair Shores, MI. I had Comcast at my previous residence and while I rarely had any issues with their service, the price difference (savings) with WOW is a no brainer. I have the Digital TV Signature with 15/2 Internet bundle. |

 | reply to rocket4565 Did you get the ultra hardware or the older style DVR's |

|
 | Old style DVR, as well as the ancient Webstar modem. Most likely will upgrade to the Surfboard to safe on the rental fee. |

3 edits | reply to rocket4565 Everything is well and good until you have to make a service call and get put on hold for an hour, then have someone answer who speaks wonky English, only for their phone system to glitch out and throw you back on hold for an hour, then have it answered again, only for them to determine that none of their remote troubleshooting efforts are working and they have to send someone to your house and they can't get anyone out there for 2 days.
WOW customer service was great when I signed up just a few months ago. In that short timeframe it has gone down the toilet.
It's nice that your TV and internet are what they promised you, but that shouldn't be considered remarkable. That really is a commodity-level internet plan (performance-wise) these days, meaning that it should be reliable and trouble free.
As for me, I'm still figuring out whether to cancel my UltraTV or cancel WOW altogether. I'm in the process of pricing out the competition, but frankly, this is like judging a porcine beauty contest. |

 | I'm in Chicago. Had WOW for has to be about 10 years. Got mad at them a few months back with issues and bills always changing. Looking into everyone else. Plain and simple, can't and won't find prices cheaper than WOW. |

I haven't spoken to a rep since the phone system change. Are they now outsourcing their phone support? |
|
 | If Alabama isn't wonky English I don't know what is. |

I've done an apples to apples with TW several times over the years, and each time TW comes out decently more expensive.
They have to pay their executives somehow, I guess.
And they left a bad, bad taste in my mouth with their business practices in the past.
Do you have *only* internet with TW? Or do you also have any TV? |

TebTeb join:2009-01-28 Columbus, OH | I currently only have their "Ultimate" 50Mbps internet service. It comes out to $82.79. Though the only problem I have been having trouble with Youtube buffering, which seems like a peering/caching issue. |

I noticed YouTube issues »Youtube Streaming Down back in this thread, but all has been good for me these days.
I've had a more satisfying experience with WOW than Comcast, even though Comcast was pretty good! --
