Re: [FireFox] Mozilla Firefox 17.0 Final

My text/fonts became bold&blurry with this update like cleartype is enabled. How do I get my text/fonts back to the way I have them set in my OS? (all cleartype style disabled). I checked in my options and my font settings are the same, is their something that needs to be manually set in about:config? These bold and blurry text are a major eyesore!

Whew... It's in the about:config. Change gfx.direct2d.disabled false to true.

Man! Who in the hell ever thought blurry text was cool and should be made standard should be shot and killed on sight!

That's an issue with how your video card is handling 2D acceleration. In my case, the text is fine, but the row spacing is sometimes messed up compared to having it disabled.

I can't seem to turnoff the cleartype. Makes FF 17 unusable!

Go into Options -> Advanced and uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available", then restart your browser.

Related to clear type ? I don't see any significant difference although I do leave it off as I don't want my Browser dictating things like hardware acceleration.
Stuff like that should be native to the O/S.

That's Advanced > General Tab, btw. I don't believe it is a default setting.
