[Cable] Woodstock POI congestion?

Hello,

I just got off the phone with my brother who lives in Ingersoll also. He has the 6 Meg package and is getting 5 Meg right now, and there haven't been any reports of congestion in Woodstock. What I can do, if you like, please post the account information in the TekSavvy direct forum and I can have a tech look into this issue for you.

No offense but jumping thru hoops to diagnose the problem, and there is a problem, is pointless. I am in Woodstock and I experience slowdowns on and off. I am at the point now I've actually purchased a DCM476 just to make sure it's not the SMC.

Forgot to post important info since I was in a rush posting before. He's not getting that speed all the time, just in the evenings. Speed in the day time is what it should be, around 28Mbps.

It certainly sounds like congestion. Whether it is occurring at the local node or the POI is left to be determined. I can't remember but does Woodstock have it's own POI or is it fed through London?

Woodstock has it's own POI. Woodstock is also the least used POI out of all POI's we have.

Yes, I'm just curious if there's some congestion on the POI or not. If not then it's node congestion. I noticed while setting it up that the DHCP lease was 1 hr so hopefully that means they are doing a node split or something which will boost speeds.

Most of the time when hour leases happen, something is occurring in the area. Maybe maintenance or upgrade. But from past experiences with other users, once the lease is back to 7 days, issues seem to disappear.
