Re: Installing Card Reader Yes, that is the right spot, and you can use either set of pins. The 5th pin on the top row is just a guide pin. (a normal 2 port USB connector would have a pin missing from the bottom row, ensuring you line it up right)
In your picture, pin 1 is on the left. You want the black wire of the connector on pin 4, with the red on pin 1. |

kudos:19 | And before doing anything, dust off that area of the motherboard. That connector block is horribly dirty; don't risk using it when it's that dirty.
