Long Beach, NY | Long Beach Outage All services are out in Long Beach as of 12 this afternoon or so. I spoke to a CV rep and he told me that a fiber line was cut somewhere and that they are working on it, and it should be restored by 4 PM. Anyone have any other information on this? I really hope they get it back online, because as a business owner here, we are really struggling and this is just another nail in the proverbial coffin.

You don't have a back-up (internet failover) connection such as DSL? I did that for our office & it came in handy when CV had a packet loss issue in our area causing issues with our hosted email server. Comes in handy during times, such as you're currently having. Hope the services come back up quickly for you though, it sucks trying to run a business without internet, etc. |

Actually, we did have DSL as a backup, but all the copper on the island was destroyed and is not being repaired, so I have to wait for them to implement FIOS to the building.

Has Verizon publicly stated it is not re-building the copper network? I am not surprised if that is the case.
Is FiOS already available on portions of LBI, but just not in your neighborhood? |
