2 edits | iTunes in Win 8 - reduced to uselessness?? I am just confused on WHO is responsible. I have a new Win 8 computer and new iTunes. The new iTunes is stripped to the bare bones and essentially useless - except as a music player.
What happened to the Explorer bar that listed all my playlists?? What happened to the Menu bar that allowed me to add Folders, create playists, etc??? Since there is no Menu bar, I cannot select to View the Explorer bar!! In fact, I can do VERY little...
All I have is a bare bones iTunes!!! Is this Win 8 - or is this just the "new" iTunes??? Thanks. |

kudos:1 | Click the arrow in the top left. You can then show Menu and from there using View you can get the left sidebar and bottom status bar back.
Clicking Playlists on the view you show also shows your playlists.

Apple. iTunes looks the same in Windows 7. I'm not upgrading because I like Cover Flow too much.

Re: iTunes in Win 8 - reduced to uselessness?? Wow, OK thanks. That solves ONE problem. I got the menu bar back. But what about the Explorer bar?? I really liked being able to drag and drop songs into Playlists in the Explorer bar...

kudos:6 | Explorer bar? You mean the List of devices/playlists on the left side?
Just drag any song and a panel slides out from the right with all your devices and playlists.
If you want it permanently, go to View > Show Sidebar.
