 | [VA] Cox deploying wireless access points here is a bad pic of one. This one is fed off a tap with coax. |
Over the past several months I have noticed Cox pulling a lot of new last mile fiber in Northern Virginia. I now know the reason several weeks ago I started seeing these little white boxes pop up all over the place on the cable plant. It turns out that they are wireless access points for a public wifi network. I will post more pictures tomorrow when I can get up closer. |

 | reply to thecybernerd I'm still trying to find more to take pictures of. I usually see them when driving so it is inconvenient for me to stop the car in the middle of the road to snap pictures. I'm really curious what vendor they are using. I think it is either Ericsson or Ruckus but am unsure. |

Cox deploying wireless access points They're showing up in Connecticut, too. Maybe a little pressure from Comcast and Cablevision and others. If they are all going to share, then Cox needs more than the 7 they had in CT. I think Comcast has way over 20,000 in the NE. The ones in my area are hot but I haven't been able to connect. |
