This was still in the days of mechanical odometers and it was originally intended to be a security feature to prevent odometer fraud (after many odometers introduced safeguards against spinning the mileage back down, crooks started to use electric drills to spin the odometer forward to cross over 9999...).

I for one am deeply disappointed. I had a real desire for a little fire and brimstone (sort of a preview for where I may be going )

I was kinda banking on the end of the world happening. Back in August I stopped paying my bills figuring that the end would occur before the letters and phone calls became threatening. I spent half of the bill payment money on wild wicked women and I spent the other half foolishly. Unfortunately, the phone calls have already started and my wife is wondering what is going on.
Damn Mayans.
