In order for me to get rid of the Actiontec and use my own router I will need to switch my ONT to Cat5? If I do that, will the VZ cable boxes cease to function? |

said by AndyD2k:If I do that, will the VZ cable boxes cease to function? Switching from coax WAN to cat5 WAN will have no effect on the VZ STBs as long as the Actiontec remains in place.
As soon as you remove the Actiontec, the VZ STBs will no longer get guide data updates or VOD since they will no longer have a MOCA LAN connection.
