Re: When will Comcast HD box record more than 2 shows at 1 time? One thing to remember is that U-Verse is IPTV. It's basically a DSL modem. You just have continuous bandwidth you can split up as needed, and steal from your Internet connection if needed. Also, I think they can only stream 3 (maybe 4) HD's due to minimal bandwidth and heavy compression.
Cable uses separate tuners, although some devices may be starting to use wideband tuners that can tune multiple channels simultaneously (I assume many D3 modems have them now, and it's why D3 channels are typically adjacent to each other). But, I don't know if there are practical 1GHz wideband tuners that don't cost $$$$ yet. It's easy in video to tune one one channel on RF2 (about 52MHz), but then another could be on RF138 (850MHz or so). |

not @comcast.net | Even the latest all piano black HD DVR boxes don't currently record more than 2 shows at one. If they have multiple tuners in them, Comcast has only enabled 2 so far. It's a joke... |

Around here, my neighbors are saying that 2 HD channels are a rare pleasure. |
