Re: Why on eath am I lagging.... ? help please...

Thank you all for responding once again.

I know something is fishy with my connection because right now I have

BELL VDSL connection with 25mb down and 7 mb up. Yes, indeed I am fully aware that ping is based on the distance from my home to the server. BUT, my preferences for my games all set to best. Meaning that when I play in any lobby my ping varies from 10 to 22 ms. Which should be A ok....

Now this is what confuses me.... Before I had ADSL connection of 12 mb down and only 715 mb up. AND HAD NO PROBLEMS!!!! My ping would go from 50 to 60 ms in game lobbys but everything was awsome.

So I have upgraded my connection in hoping to really have a good gaming times. But its like everything back fired... Lagging....

My connection right now like this:

SAGECOM MODEM/GATEWAY--->NETGEAR WNDR 3600 router----> Wired PS3/Xbox360. I only have one more wireless lap top but its usually off...

I have bridged my sagecome/gateway modem and then proceeded to setup PPPOe user name and password with only Netgear router...

Im honestly confused. Because something is not right but I do now know what!!

Faster DSL is more susceptible to noise. There is also a chance your local node is over subscribed. Either will cause packet loss or delays.

See if you can get line statistics off the modem like SNR and errors.
