God speed, Gerry Anderson...

"Gerry Anderson, the creator of hit TV shows including Thunderbirds, Stingray and Joe 90, has died at the age of 83.

He also created Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons and his puppet superheroes fired the imaginations of millions of young viewers in the 1960s and '70s..."

A remarkable man who will be well missed.

Never saw much Thunderbirds or UFO, but I watched lots of Space: 1999 back in the day.

For some reason, I started watching Space: 1999 again last month, after not seeing it in years.

Great stuff.

Thanks, Gerry (and surviving partner and former wife Sylvia).

I loved the Thunderbirds when I was kid. I had some of the cool ships (die-cast metal toys).

His former partner and former wife, Sylvia Anderson, has not written one word of condolence.

Her website is up-to-date (with Christmas greetings and wishes for a happy 2013) yet she could not post one nice word about Gerry.

And in fact, it was she who kept Gerry away from their son, for the son's entire childhood. They reconciled later on.

This does not make you look good, Sylvia....
