 | [Speed Issues] added tablets, get horrible jitter - voip not wor I use a Verizon Network Extender on my home network. Prior to adding the two tablets I had no issues (Download QoS 83%-86%, upload QoS 57% to 78%, jitter .2ms - .5ms).
After adding the tablets, jitter jumped to 100-200, download QoS dropped to 50%, and upload QoS dropped to 10%.
Needless to say...the quality of the calls is now poor.
I do have a lot on the network - two laptops, two tablets, four smartphones wifi, two bluerays, three DirectTV boxes, and a wifi printer. I've been playing with the QoS settings for my Netgear WNDR3400 router but haven't had much success.
Any suggestions? I've chatted with a Charter tech asking if upping my package for better bandwith would work but the tech said probably not. I'm hoping to find a solution that will let me keep all of my devices! |

Re: [Speed Issues] added tablets, get horrible jitter - voip not Besides connecting the cell phone to your LAN, what else does the extender do? Have you tried setting the QOS on the router to give priority to the extender? Assuming your router allows that. Have you tried shutting down the extender to see if everything else gets better? |

 | reply to lineofsight The extender basically functions as a mini cell tower, taking the air transactions and moving them onto the internet. I've power cycled everything (even had the extender unplugged for a few days). The extender works fine as long as the tablets aren't online. |

 | I have tried tweaking the QOS settings on the router - giving the extender the highest priority, the laptops 'normal' priority, and the other devices the lowest. |

That is strange... |
