Moving from Extreme HD/25/25 to Prime HD 75/35

I had been contemplating cancelling my FIOS because of the cost. But I was trying to watch the ball drop on streaming video, while being on a multi-way Skype video call with friends last night, and DSL just couldn't handle it. I've decided to not only keep my FIOS, but to actually upgrade the internet service. To keep the price reasonable, I downgraded my TV package too.

I had a few questions. For the Internet speed package upgrade, and the TV downgrade - do they need to send a tech? I'm hoping not.

I think, although I'm not certain, that I have a GPON ONT. I'm in an MDU, but each apt has their own fiber line and ONT.

I'm connected to the ONT via coax, which goes to a splitter, and then to my FIOS router (rev F maybe? maybe G? def. not I), and to the HD set-top box.

My other question is, do they need to have a human "push buttons" to enable the switchover in services? Because my "activation date" is weds. I was wondering if I would get the new speeds automagically at midnight tonight, or if I have to wait until business hours tomorrow for the upgrade to take place?

All automatic, no one will come out as its not necessary for package / speed changes

I made a mistake, my activation date is the 3rd, thurs. Another day to wait for my faster speeds. Sigh.
