[motherboard] A problem with USB 3.0 port

I have 970 Extreme3 board »www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/970%20Extreme3/ the issue i am having is one of the USB 3.0 ports is acting very weird. When i plugin external portable hard drive it does not power on whatsoever so i have tried plugin in USB 2.0 flash drive it sees it as Unknown device. The other USB 3.0 port works like it should. Could it be the cable connected to the wrong header?

Have you try updating the USB drivers?

What i was trying to say is, In the other USB 3.0 port all of the devices work fine. I have checked my system more than 5 times to make sure they are no issues with the drivers or OS it's self.

I think you should give Asrock a call/e-mail.

Are you connecting to the ports on the board itself, or one of their add-on boxes? The plug on my bay mount kit slips off just enough to stop working from time to time.

I didn't see a USB 3 header in the manual for that board.

"Could it be the cable connected to the wrong header?" OP suggests there is, so I looked, didn't see it.

Rear Panel I/O

Also, page 13.

Pretty sure OP is just talking about those 2x USB 3.0

Right. Cable, header, ---OP's words. Thus, my reference to header, not rear i/o ports. Can you find a USB 3 header in there? I couldn't.
