OZOPremium join:2003-01-17 kudos:2 | What is that and where did you see it? I always install it in "Portable" mode. May be that's the reason why I've never seen it mentioned there:

Like large percentage of free software, it's bundled with an 'offering'. Here's what is in the download file today... It's your choice to accept or not (have to check out this for Windows 8). |

OZOPremium join:2003-01-17 kudos:2 | Hmm, interesting. May be setup file was replaced? My file (I've made the picture with it and posted earlier) is:
File: FreeFileSync_5.11_setup.exe Size: 6281120 bytes File Version: 5.11 Modified: Sunday, January 06, 2013, 14:03:49 MD5: FFE4DF63B5EBC624E18B91D13CF12C21 SHA1: F9DA58E7940D1A7FA8583D165D6505B2C721B517 CRC32: 61D549B0
I did not see any such offers, when I run it. My guess is, again, may be it's because I install it as "Portable"?

Even in portable mode, you are still offered "realplayer". |
|
 | That's odd. I've used FreeFileSync for awhile now, always installed as Local and I've never seen those offers. It's always just been a straight-up install of FreeFileSync only. (And I'm sure I didn't overlook a stealthy install of either - they aren't on my system.) |

OZOPremium join:2003-01-17 kudos:2 | reply to therube Very interesting. I've repeated installation in "Portable" mode for the third time and I don't see that dialog box. When I click on "Next" button, installation starts and I see the dialog box, confirming that installation was complete successfully (including details). There is no offer for a RealPlayer or anything else for that matter. May be somehow it does know that I will refuse them anyway
I do it directly, not using SandboxIE. But I think it doesn't change the outcome. -- Keep it simple, it'll become complex by itself... |
