Keep trying if you have trouble; the deal is pretty popular at the moment.

Downloads are very slow, though. But beggars can't be choosers... |

From what I remember the Mac version of CS 2 is PowerPc. Intel Based Macs running Leopard or Snow Leopard may be able to run it under Rosetta but Lion and Mountain Lion no longer support PowerPC software. It probably won't support many raw files developed after 2005 or so. Still, if you've got an old Mac it may be better than nothing. |

with the activation server being dead as was mention, it's still good, yes? for my needs, the older version is just fine. as the versions get newer, it gets more bloated and it seems the learning curve gets worse for me
nice find!
Edit: as I read further, I'm seeing conflicting info, and it's not "free", but only for those that had a legal copy and "lost" it...... -- | map your city | |

If Adobe posts it openly on their own site with the serial numbers to activate it and keeps the site up after it is realized that other-than-previous-owners are downloading it, it's free for everyone as far as I'm concerned.
They'll probably wind up getting more customers for their current programs by giving more people an actual familiarity with their old versions - rather than their products just being a known brand name. -- Patriotism is not waving a flag, it is living the ideals

As many have said, Adobe you screwed up. At least spin it in your favor. |

| reply to nklb Per my conversation with Adobe. Please excuse the typos. : Hello. Welcome to Adobe Technical Support.
Vijay: Hi Don,
Vijay: I have received your query. Please allow me a moment to verify your account and to review the details of your request.
Vijay: I understand that you want to know whether CS2 is for free which is available at Adobe website, Am I correct?
Don: That is right it can be down loaded and the ser# nubber is posted with it. But there are conflicting stories as to it being a mistake or for real.
Vijay: Thank you for confirming the issue.
Vijay: I'll be glad to help you with this.
Vijay: Don, let me explain.
Vijay: If you own CS2 and want to re-install it, you will be able to install it however you will not be able to activate since Activation server for CS2 is disabled,
Vijay: Since we provide those customers to CS2 download link with new serial number.
Vijay: Is there anything else I can help you with?
Don: If I don't lready own it then I can't download and instal it Is trhat what you are saying.
Vijay: Don, As per Adobe policy, it should not be downloaded if the customers really do not own CS2.
Don: What good is new number if activation server is disabled
Don: And it can now be downloaded on the adobe site
Vijay: Yes.
Vijay: Do you have any more questions for me?
Don: What good is new number if activation server is disabled
Vijay: Don, the new serial number does not required activation,
Don: Thank you

| reply to nklb Well, I grabbed it without twisting myself into an ethical quandary, since I wasn't even required to login or create an account to access that page. If the Photoshop police come after me, I'll give the files back to them. |
