[Weather] 13C and the Christmas lights are down!

I took advantage of the warm weather and took the lights down. It was nice being able to roll them up being so warm.

It's 6 degrees in Ottawa. I took some time to chip the thawing ice from my driveway. We have way too much snow on the lawn to safely set up the ladder and take down the Christmas lights.

Awesome.

I actually got them both up and down on time this year, so for once I can say that I relate. (to keeping up with seasonal decorations)

Good on ya.

I had a nice warm day in late November when I put them up too. I just put the Christmas tree on the shelf. My wife has to sort some boxes and then all done.

It’s like March minus the cold winds, very strange for this time of the year, but certainly unpleasant, there is even a scent of fresh rain in the air (probably from all the snow melting and high humidity). Normally there is a mini warm break sometime in February, however abnormal seems to be the normal now.

Hope we don't end up with a thermonuclear temperatures this summer.

All our holiday stuff is coming down this afternoon. It's been a good Christmas, but Groundhog's Day is just around the corner and we've got to be ready.

Took all mine down Jan 2nd... Didn't have a lot up this year, anyways, so didn't take long.

Did a dump-run today; got rid of a bunch of boxes, and stuff from the storage unit (if I haven't needed it in a year, I either don't need it, or have already replaced it...)

Weather is insane today - 10 degrees or so here in Barrie-area.

ours are now down too, although, every year i try to convince the wife they are "Winter Wonderland Lights", not Christmas lights, as i like the look of them up all winter long...sure, they look silly when there is no snow on the ground, but when you get a couple of feet of snow, they look really nice.

and every year, i lose that argument.

Are you going to leave the Christmas tree avatar up all winter too?

Yeah. Went outside with my coat and instantly questioned why I wasn't wearing shorts and a T-shirt.

Yup. The seafood dept at the local grocery seemed in tune with the weather yesterday and had my favorite shrimp and scallop skewers made up, which they usually only have in the summer. Had a great barbecue last night, and planning another one tonight!

it was changed this morning...your computer/playbook is likely caching the image.

Yes, thanks! The Playbook actually has a particularly long-lived cache. My own doggie Christmas hat kept appearing long after I had removed it!

me too. i will let them dry out inside for a couple days then pack them away till next year. washed a car to get some slime off and cleaned interior windows. I love good visability.

it was nice for NL to take one for the team they practically took all of the entire Canadas winter storms in one hit so here is a toast.

Cheers to Newfoundland !

I should have taken a picture this afternoon, but there are two snowdrops showing colour in the garden. One I'd say is truly in bloom, the other just close. I know there are blue ones (keep meaning to look for them), but these are the common white ones.

L.A. reached 14C only today, normal is 20C. It is currently 6C in San Diego, where the high today was 13C.

Sitting outside smoking a nice Cuban cigar and sipping a beer, it's a beautiful night.
