Turning off router functions

I own a time capsule that has is own router functions anyway I can just use my cisco gateway device as a modem and turn off all the router parts if so how?

The gateway doesn't have any such functionality built in. If you wish to use the time capsule as your router this will require getting a stand alone modem.

While CoxTech1 is completely right in saying the functionality is not built in, it can be forced through alot of configuration work. I would agree 100% stand alone modem is the way to go, but if that isn't a possibility (say if its not your account) I think there is a thread over on the Network part of DSLreports that shows how to do it. I would post a link but I don't know what device you have. Whats the model number?
