| Its COLD! How are you all doing with this cold snap? I had and oil delivery this morning. I must have been very low on fuel. The guy was here for ever filling my tank! I went to see my Lawyer today. (50 miles inland) I never saw my dash temperature go over 5! Its just damn cold! Expected to go to -5 tonight. |
|
 | Just got back from my morning walk. Zero here. Very tolerable no wind. The oil burner is working overtime, so like you I expect to need another delivery soon....Ouch!! |

 | reply to Dominokat YARMOUTH - More than 600 NStar customers in Yarmouth lost power and heat late Wednesday night on arguably the coldest night of the season. A failure of a transformer was apparently to blame. NStar crews were working to restore service as quickly as possible. The outage swelled to 1,700 customers at one point before being restored around 1 a.m. The temperature at nearby Barnstable Municipal Airport at the time was 9 degrees with a windchill of -2. ______________________
Out for 90 minutes last night. Not near me or Motel Happy as Hell on the Beach so no problem. |

DominokatHiPremium join:2002-08-06 Boothbay, ME kudos:2 | Thats what I like about having a Monitor heater. I have a 12volt high amp Marine battery and a 1200 power inverter that I can hook up to keep the heater going A VERY LOOOOONG time if the power goes out. |

japPremium join:2003-08-10 038xx | reply to Dominokat I'm at that age where each winter is notably less enjoyable and fear of snowbird status threatens. Shopping for property and this cold spell has me up late on Realtor.com looking at VA/MD's Delmarva Peninsula rather than Buzzard's Bay communities.
That and dog's not getting the level of exercise he's come to expect. We were out in -2F last night and took the 1/3mile woods loop rather than the usual mile. Won't break until Tues, predicts NOAA.
Apt living and miss my wood stove! |

The house is cozy, work is overheated as usual, and I bought myself a Marmot coat on sale at EMS a few weeks ago that's proving to be well worth what I paid for it.
