Re: [Off Topic] COX HSI & Telephone

Just got my Cox telephone installed and I forgot to ask the tech what the IP address to access the modem like I could with my Cisco 3010.

Appreciate anyone help...

Can you let us know if you see any change in speed or dependability going from the DPC3010 to the DPQ3212? I am debating doing a similar change but from a SB6180.

Just be careful when you get your bill, my cox telephone bill went from $29.95 to $50.00 a month thanks to taxes and fees. As reliable as their phone service is, it's hard to swallow that much.

Mine is supposed to be $9.99 for the first 6 months and then it goes to $32.96 service/taxes. This is $13/month cheaper than AT&T.

I have most of my neighbors and coworkers that have the phone service and haven't had any problems.

That is just about what I pay ($35.01) for a verizon copper line. $2 savings per-month is not much of an incentive to swap especially considering I have telephone service even during extend power outages.
