Re: Door-to-door energy company in Ottawa facing charges I get rid of these guys pretty fast at those times when I even bother answering the door. If they are reasonably honest about who they are I'm reasonably polite in saying I'm not interested. Those who try to represent themselves as "inspectors" from a public utility get a different treatment. I tell the "official inspector" to get off my property immediately or I'm calling the police. In just those words.

I proposed the same hypothetical scenario to a guy who showed up out of the blue a couple weeks ago to inspect my 22 year old furnace and was advised the gas would be shut off if he couldn't come in. |
