| Because the ATV2 can be jailbroken (you can install media streaming software like XBMC and probably Plex on it, among other things) and the ATV3 can't and isn't likely to be ever.

Err, I just sold both of my 2nd Gen Apple TV's for $200 a piece. We've been using the X-Box 360 as a media hub...should I ever feel the need to go back to ATV, I would only be spending $99.

I had no idea ATV2s were so valuable. I have 2 sitting on shelves after I had upgraded to ATV3s. I had JBed them but never actually used the apps I installed after JBing. |
