Re: Linksys WRT54GL not working

30-30-30 reset? Yes, it did assign me an ip off of the router, I forget what address it was. I also did a ping test for 192.168.1.1 and the router did respond. I had a similar problem with an old netgear router and I hooked it up-to a computer that was running xp and that got it to work (my computer is running vista). I tried bringing it up with IE and firefox and got the same result. Thanks

IP address is 192.168.1.157

Default Gateway 192.168.1.1

If I type the default gateway in the browser, I keep getting "404 not found"

Is it possible that the router is set to only allow secure connections? Try changing from http to httpS://192.168.1.1 and see if it responds.

The linksys and the laptop should be the only connection

Since the ip allocated by the linksys is 192.168.1.157 the linksys ip address should be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254

If the linksys ip is not one of the ip's above a ip scanner can be used to find the ip address
