Trolls NEED the "evidence" on your hard drive. Imagine a letter saying "stop sharing our BS works immediately but DO NOT DELETE IT FROM YOUR HARD DRIVE so we can EXTORT MONEY FROM YOU YOU EASIER". In my view "cease and desist letter" must tell a sharer to stop sharing + kill the file which was obtained "illegally", it just makes more sense to word it like that. Otherwise, it makes obvious troll's intentions not to stop illegal downloading / uploading but to EXTORT MONEY. IMHO |

2. Voltage can't send a letter demanding to stop sharing while keeping the file. Think about how ridicules that letter would be :
